Calculator disclaimer

Our calculators estimate gross amounts from the values you enter. They do not replace payroll records, calculate taxes, or give legal advice.

Estimates from your inputs

Every result on this site is calculated from the values you enter and the assumptions shown on that calculator's page. Defaults, such as a 40-hour week or a 1.5 overtime multiplier, are starting points you can change. They are not statements about the rules that apply to your job.

Gross pay is not take-home pay

Pay results are gross amounts, before federal, state, and local taxes, Social Security and Medicare, benefits, retirement contributions, garnishments, and other deductions. No calculator on this site estimates tax withholding or take-home pay. See gross pay vs net pay.

Rules vary

Overtime, meal and rest breaks, holiday pay, paid time off, final pay, and commission rules depend on federal law, state and local law, your employment contract, a union agreement, or employer policy. Where a page describes a rule, it links to the source and says where the rule applies. That description is general information. It is not a determination of what your employer owes you.

Comparisons and projections

Tools that compare job offers, project PTO balances, or plan freelance rates rely on your estimates of hours, bonuses, and costs. Real outcomes change with schedules, raises, policies, and taxes. Use them to compare options, not to predict exact income.

Check before relying on a result

Review time entries, unpaid breaks, rates, and rounding settings. If a result differs from your paycheck, compare it with your pay stub and time records, then ask your payroll contact. For questions about your rights, contact your state labor department or the U.S. Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division, or consult a qualified professional. This site does not provide individualized legal, tax, or financial advice.
