Common questions

What is the difference between gross and net pay?

Gross pay is everything you earn before taxes and deductions. Net pay is what remains after withholding and deductions. These calculators estimate gross pay.

How many paychecks are in a year?

52 for weekly pay, 26 for biweekly (sometimes 27), 24 for semimonthly, and 12 for monthly.

Do bonuses and piece work change overtime?

For nonexempt employees, nondiscretionary bonuses and piece earnings are generally part of the regular rate used for overtime under federal rules.
